scary monsters ~endless halloween night~ 3-3 "what a stubborn guy"

Location: The Other Dimension - Yugen Canyon

Jamil: HAAAH hah hah! I knew they’d go collecting shards if we left them alone.

A gaggle of ghosts are far faster at searching than two people. We’ll be taking those now!

Ghost B: Waaaah! Theft is a crime, you know~!

Ghost C: We’ll get you for this!

The ghosts book it.

Silver: Jamil… It’s not right to steal from others.

Let’s give these shards back to them.

Jamil: Oh, sure. Let’s be cordial to the villains who’re trying to carry us off to their boss instead.

Silver: Villain or no, there’s no justifiable reason for stealing.

Jamil: Tch… What a stubborn guy…

But it isn’t stealing. We’re headed for that party eventually, right?

Then it’s likely we’ll cross paths again and can return them there. Until then we’re simply borrowing.

Silver: But…

Jamil: Aren’t you eager to save Malleus-senpai and the others? So we should prioritize what allows us to reach our goal.

Silver: ……

The hero of the Far East borrowed their father’s sword without asking only to set off on a journey once. In due course, they returned it with an apology.

Maybe there was a lesson there, that one has to tackle the toughest decisions on the path to a just cause.

Is that what you mean, Jamil?

Jamil: Uh, yeah, of course. My point exactly.

Silver: Even if those ghosts grow to resent us, I pledge to forge ahead with plans to pay them back.

Jamil: And isn’t that great? That hero or whatever imparted some pretty worthwhile advice.

Silver: You’re right. They were honorable and fulfilled their duty.

But thanks to her efforts, her father acknowledged her as a daughter worthy of praise upon her return.

Jamil: … Daughter?

Wait. Don’t tell me the hero was a woman?!

Silver: That she was. Didn’t I bring that up?

She disguised herself as a man to take her sick father’s place.

Jamil: It’s literally the most crucial element of your story…

And here I was, picturing a big burly man triggering an avalanche with his bare hands!

Silver: You’ll have to forgive me. I’m not very good at making conversation.

Jamil: Sigh… It’s fine. This is what happens when you make assumptions.

Silver: Look. There’s something beneath that pavilion.

Jamil: Is that a… door? Kind of bizarre for one to be out in the open like that.

Maybe it’s connected to another area like earlier. Let’s check it out!

Ghosts: Hold it right thereeee!!!

Ghost A: This time, we won’t yield for even a moment! Give back what you robbed from us at once!

Silver: Ghosts…

For the sake of those I care about… I’ll make you clear a path!
