date plan - ( chapter 5 )

Location: Seisou Hall ( Night )
Kaoru: Gasp, wheeze.... s-stop, stop.
Ugh, I'm already exhausted. You're a real bundle of energy, Moricchi.
Chiaki: Hahah. Somehow I manage to be cautious about a lot lately now that others see me as a working adult.
Considering that, maybe I just have tons of excess energy to burn.
Kaoru: That doesn't mean I can deal with you eagerly shouting a "let's go on a date!" at me.
What's so fun about a date between two guys, anyway? Like ew, gross~...
Chiaki: Don't be like that, Hakaze. It's not like I invited you without a second thought.
You were upset over whether you really understood how girls work at our afternoon meeting, right?
Kaoru: Ah, yeah. I was way too shaken up in front of our underclassmen. Makes me feel like I'm not all that reliable of a senpai.
Chiaki: Don't let it get to you. Everyone has times like that. After all, we can't be perfect at everything we do just because we're older.
From my end it looked like you were seriously worried because you couldn't figure it out.
Anyhow. I thought I should encourage you, as a fellow classmate.
If the cause of your troubles is the fact that you don't understand how girls feel, then I'll just try being one! It's an alleged "Transform"!
Kaoru: Uh, yep. You say the wackiest stuff so naturally. Like, thanks to our stressful society, you're thinking up stranger stuff than you used to.
Well. I know you can get kinda stuck in your head, but... it was the perfect timing for a nice change of pace.
Chiaki: There we go. That's the ticket! Then let's get started right awa—
Kaoru: Whoa, hold it. I never said a thing about going on a date, okay?
Chiaki: Oh? Still unhappy about that?
I really should've worn a dress to look more girly.
I went with just the ribbon because I couldn't obtain women's clothing that'd fit my physique that fast.
Kaoru: No, I mean, I don't want to waste my time on a date between us guys.
Let's go out like usual, regardless of our job right now, like that time everyone in Class 3-A went to the arcade. We made some pretty good memories back then.
Opportunities like that don't come often now that we're all acting like regular working adults. I mean, if we're gonna hang out then we might as well have fun.
For example, we go to an arcade or to karaoke or go shopping... it's nice to take a breather like that.
Chiaki: Hmm... I got it. If that'll help solve your problems, Hakaze, then I'll help you!
I'm the captain of the hero unit RYUSEITAI, after all. I want to help people in need.
There. The ribbon comes off. Where do you want to go now?
It should be easy for someone experienced like you to come up with our dating plan! I'll leave our destination to you, Hakaze... ☆
Kaoru: Ahahah. I said it's not a date.
But yeah. I think there're still some shops open around this time on Thyme Street. Ever been there yourself, Moricchi?
Chiaki: Ah, well. There're tons of places there people go to for their wrap-up parties after work.
I can't really handle the atmosphere of a drinking party much myself...
But going there to hang out like usual's no problem. Let's go down to one of your favorite shops if you want to have some rare fun.
Kaoru: There's a good idea. ♪
To tell you the truth, though, Moricchi, I don't run around Thyme Street all that much.
Chiaki: Now that's unexpected. RYUSEITAI aside, since lots of our fans are children, it feels like UNDEAD would fit right in.
Kaoru: We frequent it often for work, naturally, but we'd get a bad rap if we messed around in the shopping district almost every day.
A veteran agency like RhythLink might be used to those types of scandals, but... I didn't want to cause any trouble for UNDEAD with my behavior.
Maybe it's not on the same level of intensity as RYUSEITAI, but as an idol I've gotta be sure I'm defending us where I can.
Chiaki: Ohhh. You've really grown, Hakaze! Now for some praise. There, there. Good boy... ☆
Kaoru: Wh—hey?! You're gonna mess up my hair!
Chiaki: Oh, sorry, sorry. Your words were just so kind.
If you're wary of scandals then we can go somewhere besides Thyme Street.
You don't have to force yourself to venture into the shopping district for some fun if it's the only street with anything open this late at night.
Kaoru: Oh, no. There's no way I'm gonna back out after coming this far.
Especially when I don't think we'll get accused of some weird scandal if it's just you and me. If it were just me I'd hit up one of my usual hangs to let off some steam. ♪
Chiaki: O-Okay... ? That reaction was the exact opposite of what I expected, but... a man never goes back on his word. I'll keep you company if that's what you want, Hakaze.
Kaoru: Yep, yep. Now that's what I call a hero! You'd be helping me out tons. ♪
So, uhm. Where do you want to go? Time to look at reviews on our phones... ☆
Chiaki: Honestly, you're too shrewd.
But it'll all be worth it if you can forget about your troubles for a minute.
Part of being an idol's being able to bring a moment of happiness to the people around you.
All right, Hakaze! We've got to strike the iron while it's hot! Let's head straight for Thyme Street!
Kaoru: Y-You don't have to drag me along!
Ah, geez. You really are energetic, Moricchi... ♪
