Adonis: … phew. I feel refreshed.

Though they’re not a part of my culture back home, Japanese baths are really nice.

Ah—is it all right for me to borrow this towel?

Eichi: Of course. It’s a mere hotel furnishing; there’s an endless amount of replacements.

Ah, do you want something to drink? It’s important to stay hydrated… would you prefer milk or juice?

Or perhaps you’d like mineral water more?

Adonis: Milk is fine. I want to build strong bones.

Eichi: All right. Here you go… I thought it was too hot and added some ice. Is that fine to mix with your milk?

Adonis: I really don’t mind.

… oh. Anzu’s disappeared. Did you eat her, Tenshouin-senpai?

Eichi: Of course not. What an outrageous thing to say. Did you use the wrong term in Japanese… ?

It seems she had qualms over having to borrow my bathroom and so she said she was returning to her room to shower.

In other words, it’s just the two of us now.

Adonis: I see. This is my first time having a one-on-one with you, Tenshouin-senpai, so I’m having trouble coming up with a topic.

I’m not good with words… so I may not be able to meet your requirements for someone to talk to.

Eichi: Not at all. I’m mainly enjoying this. You use so many strange expressions...

Your Japanese is so correct that it’s too correct. A bit too formal for everyday conversation, maybe.

Adonis: I understand. Forgive me. There’re still some things about Japanese that I’m unfamiliar with.

Eichi: What was your first language again? Could you say a little something in it?

I might’ve studied it previously… I want to know if that, or your experience with Japanese, is the source of your tone.

Fufu. What will we do if your tone of voice in your mother tongue’s like Oogami-kun or the old Sakuma-kun?

Adonis: Don’t worry. According to Sakuma-senpai, I’ll always sound “me-ish” no matter the language.

He told me in the past, when we first met, that I was so consistent it made him jealous.

Eichi: Is that so. … you idolize Sakuma-kun a great deal, don’t you, Otogari-kun?

Adonis: Yeah. It’s only natural; he’s my benefactor, after all. In every respect, he’s my goal. Compared to him, I’m still too… weak.

Eichi: I think being self-aware of your own weakness while working tirelessly is strength in itself.

Besides, Sakuma-kun isn’t some absolutely invincible hero. He’s weakened considerably, compared to his prime.

Vampires have plenty of weaknesses. That’s why you must protect him, even more so if he’s important to you.

Adonis: … I know. But he won’t let me.

Eichi: Fufu. You can’t win against us if you’re always holding back.

Both fine and UNDEAD’s future will very clearly be determined during this trip.

You will be vanquished, groveling and crawling in the earth, and we will be the champions, brilliant and shimmering in heaven.

Adonis: What do you mean? If you’re misleading me I don’t understand. I’m not smart enough to make an educated guess, nor do I have the literary talent. Japanese is so difficult.

Eichi: Why, humans are the difficult ones.

… oh. Anzu-chan’s on her way. I’m going to greet here, so wait here for a minute.

Adonis: Yeah… I understand. I’m waiting.
