romantic comedy - ( to every good kid, chapter 4 )
Location: StarFes Stage (First Half)
<A Few Minutes Later>
Adonis: Hmm. I think I understand the rules for "StarFes". The first hal is a savage tournament where we face each one-on-one and the loser has to leave..
Never to stand on this stage again for today.
In order to win we need to accumulate votes, and whichever unit has the most in total is the victor...
The second half is where you gain the privilege to perform on the best stage.
You'll want to always be on stage during the first half in order to get votes.
But you're out in one go if you lose, so a lot of units start to have second thoughts...
Such as "when to attack, and which unit do we fight?"... things that aren't set in stone and best left to one's own discretion.
Hmm. It's a bit confusing since the format differs so much from the other S1 lives.
I'm a little concerned over how bloodthirsty this one feels when compared to the Tanabata Festival and Halloween Party lives.
Rei: Indeed. Even our young lady producer has a grimly determined look on her face to match the likes of Trickstar.
We shouldn't look on them as desperate. Bear in in mind how tremendous Trickstar has become, lest we let our guards down and get consumed with the rest in an instant.
Kaoru: Ahahah. Boys really love their war games, but our first priority should be making sure the guests are entertained, right?
If we forget that we're probably done for.
Koga: ... yeah. We've gotta do our best to make sure they're havin' a blast out there.
Kaoru: For as long as we can, ideally. We'll need to utilize some sort of strategy for that for sure.
Adonis: Right. I thought everyone would be performing on stage together in the first half in their usual uniforms, but...
With so many external factors complicating things, there's no room for a genuine battle of skill.
Rei: Indeed. Given Akatsuki dons Eastern-style attire, they're ill-matched for a Western-themed event that centers on Christmas.
Even Valkyrie, lauded for the way they painstakingly manipulate the entire stage until it's within the realm of fine art, will be at a disadvantage with this setting.
Koga: Ain't like we've got a huge lead on them or anything.
Our rock'n'roll 's all about bein' rebellious and immoral... so the hell's with this stage? Is this a fairy-tale world some shrimp dreamt up?
Adonis: Hm. It does feel rather cute.
Kaoru: Then Ra*bits will be pretty strong contenders... well, not that they looked all that ready to show off their stuff a little while ago.
Adonis: Is something wrong with Ra*bits?
Kaoru: Yeah. Sakuma-san threw himself on me and begged and cried until I pulled grandpa here all the way to Student Council Room.
Rei: I didn't beg and cry... I wished to confirm whether the bombshell that Trickstar dropped was their own doing or merely a task the staff forced them to undertake.
We happened to catch a glimpse of Ra*bits in the midst of their final lesson for "StarFes" in a vacant classroom on the way from there to the auditorium.
As for myself, I was simply concerned for Shino-kun since he'd gotten involved in the fabricated scandal article incident...
I was thinking that I wanted to greet him and apologize.
Those children lacked the room with which to respond, however... they were in the middle of such a serious discussion that my voice couldn't reach them.
Kaoru: ... I wonder what happened. Wouldn't it be better to just ask them what's up after all?
( Did Hajime-kun end up talking to the rest of his group about "that incident"? Even when he wanted to keep it a secret? And then they had a disagreement, maybe... )
( Uh? Nothing sounds right about that picture, though. )
Rei: There's no need. They didn't beseech our help. To offer a word or a hand on our own would be haughty.
They don't need a guardian to strut over and intrude. Those children will settle their problems on their own.
They're fairly strong in that regard.
Kaoru: Well, sure. It's not like they have a big shot butting in all the time like, "lemme teach you the correct way~", or "lemme guide you~".
Rei: ... Kaoru-kun, is that a snide remark about how I usually act?
Kaoru: Of course. It's what I really hate about you the most. ♪
