Location: Dwarfs Mine’ - Campsite

Ruggie: Take it down… Are you serious, Floyd-kun?

Floyd: Hah? Uh, obviously.

It’s not like we’ll all be able to escape something that fast.

So facing ‘em head-on’s our only choice. There’s no way I’m gonna sit here and wait to get eaten.

Ruggie: ...Assuming we did fight, what would our plan of attack be? That thing is way faster than normal.

Sebek: … In that case, I have a proposal to make.

We found an enormous swamp in the forest.

If we can drag the silhouette inside, the environment should restrain them, no matter how swift they are.

Floyd: Gang-up on someone who’s stopped dead. Not bad, Crocodile-chan!

Sebek: Crocod...—you mean me?!

Floyd: I like that waaay more than bunching up like barnacles.

Count me in.

Ruggie: Wait a minute! How’re you going to drag it in or even lead it in there?

I told you; that speed’s insane. It’ll catch you before you even make it to the swamp.

Jack: Ugh… I could outrun it for sure if I could turn into a wolf with my unique magic…

Ruggie: We don’t have our magical pens on us right now.

Plus, anything stronger than, well, the basics is off-limits. Unique magic’s too risky to use.

I don’t know how much blot we can afford to accumulate. If we end up overblotting…

Floyd: Seriously? We can’t, like, go all-out guns blazing?

Ruggie: Of course not! Look, we’re in a situation here. The last thing we need is even more problems stacked on top!

Floyd: Everyone’s holding back without their gems, huh. What a bunch of wusses.

Wait, that’s it! We do have them!

Everyone: Huh?

Ruggie: The shards we collected for that challenge! Everyone’s got one, right?!

Sebek: Come to think, I have the one I discovered on our very first day!

Ruggie: And I’ve got a bunch of leftovers on hand from my club. How about you, Floyd-kun?

Floyd: Oh, yeah. I found one when I went into the mine too.

But it’s super itty-bitty. Maybe like, half the size of my pinky’s fingernail.

Ruggie: No sweat!

Now we can maybe use someone’s unique magic at least once!

Jack: Right. Leave the luring it out to the swamp part to me.

Plus I’ve got a plan for how we can drag them in…

Ruggie: Jack-kun and I’ll go the long way around once we hook our dark silhouette.

Meanwhile, I want you two to get over to the swamp first.

Sebek: What do you intend to have us do?

Ruggie: We’re gonna take a leaf right out of its book.
