Ruggie: ...So.

Last you saw Deuce-kun was somewhere around here, right?

Jack: Right. We got separated at the entrance, when he went back in for his pickaxe.

I thought he’d just come on back to camp after that.

But when Vargas-sensei started barking out orders, I noticed he was missing...

I asked the guys after the meeting if they’d seen him, but everyone said not since lunch.

Ruggie: And that’s when you came to us, huh.

Jack: Yeah.

The upperclassmen in our club just laughed and said, “Maybe he’s slacking off like Ace.”

I don’t know Deuce really well since track’s an individual sport, but…

Putting him on the same level as Ace is… well, he’s way more stupid than… uh…

Anyway, he’s a serious guy who wouldn’t ditch us mid-challenge, I think. Something’s definitely fishy here.

Epel: Yeah… I think so too.

Jamil: I think it’s safe to assume that whatever happened happened to Ace and Leona-senpai too.

Ruggie: To Leona-san, huh… It’s a little hard to imagine…

We don’t know where they disappeared, exactly, unlike Deuce-kun.

Which means we gotta look. Besides, if they take a back seat in this camping thing it’ll only give us more to do.

Jamil: Agreed. Who would’ve thought Ace would end up being as much of a handful as a certain someone…

Floyd: Ahaha. Now things are getting interesting!

Jamil: Interesting? Why’re you so…

Floyd: What? Not knowing what happens next is the fun part.

Those puny faeries don’t have anything on me, so maybe they’ll bring out some whale-sized competition instead.

Jamil: Give me a break… That’s not going to happen.

Jack: Oh! Here.

He should’ve come here to retrieve the pickaxe.

DEUUUCE!

… Nothing. Guess he isn’t here.

Ruggie: We’d better head in further, then. Tread carefully.

Epel: Wait a minute!

Floyd: What’s up, Guppy-chan? You find something neat?

Epel: Uhm, leaning against the rock wall ahead…

Jack: A pickaxe… the same one Deuce was after!

Ruggie: Was after being the key-word here.

Jamil: Does that mean Deuce never came this way…?

Floyd: So baaasically… —he disappeared without a trace.

Epel: No way…

T-Then, something really did happen to Leona-san and Ace-kun... ?!

Jamil: ...Let’s head back.

Taking it a step further is too risky. Anything is possible now, so we ought to straighten things out first.

I think we should bring this up to Vargas-sensei again.

Ruggie: I’m all for that. This is one tricky situation…
