summer vacation - ( the darkness and the sun 5 )

Location: Tropical Stage

Yuzuru: ( … I see. UNDEAD regained their stride sooner than I expected. )

( After being thrown into the assembly hall without warning, they should've had no choice but to remain frozen with confusion. )

( Perhaps they saw through our plan in advance, for lack of foresight on my part. )

( No… that can’t be. I received a compliment from President-sama. This should be the greatest, most perfect plan conceivable. )

( Our goal during this trip was to utilize UNDEAD in lifting fine to even greater heights. )

( And while the public believes we’re equal due to the close contest we had during the DDD, UNDEAD outclasses us. )

( We attracted customers by inviting Sakuma-sama, who has plenty of fans outside the country. As far as I know, he went abroad many times for study. )

( There he could witness their behavior up close and learn the proper etiquette. )

( One could say they were the perfect guests to assist us as we rehearsed for our overseas tour throughout this trip. )

( Furthermore, I thoroughly researched the matter of Sakuma-sama's considerable vulnerability during the daytime. )

( That B1 performance before the DDD… though unofficial, it clearly revealed the extent of Sakuma-sama’s weak constitution. )

( Rounding up fans using Sakuma-sama's popularity, only to take advantage of his weakness in order to take him out… )

( That’s how fine will get ahead of UNDEAD and stay ahead in both name and reality. )

( We'll become even more well-known after we beat them overseas, where they're already admired. )

( Our differences in ability won't matter. The outcome is up to public opinion. )

( I felt strongly that this was the perfect plan to ensure progress towards our victory… )

( But this is quite difficult to manage. It’s as if I can’t produce a gap between us at all. )

Eichi: Fufu. What’s wrong, Yuzuru? That’s such a stern look.

Yuzuru: … and you’re as calm and collected as ever, President-sama.

If this plan were to fall apart, I’m the one in charge… in other words, you can use the excuse of “it’s my fault” if we were to lose.

Eichi: Such a childish complaint isn’t like you, you know. How adorable… I wish you’d show me this side of you more often.

You can rest assured that we won’t lose. It’s fine’s duty to keep on succeeding.

Right now you’re more or less overwhelmed with UNDEAD’s storming about while their emotions run high.

But our victory is secure. Well done, Yuzuru. You incorporated ways for us to be prepared to recover from all sorts of situations, didn’t you?

Yuzuru: …

Eichi: You did well in selecting the location, given that the main island here is so close to ones owned by the Tenshouin conglomerate.

The Tenshouin are the local wealth here. We’ve always traded with the neighborhood islands on a regular basis.

There are many involved who’ve found dealing with us to be very beneficial.

They’re sure to support the Tenshouin who’re always backing them over a bunch of foreign nobodies… that’s just how the human mind works.

An annual festival is being held on this island right now. The majority of our audience are those individuals who have no interest in idols.

That’s why most of our sensible guests, who’re unable to evaluate or criticize the degree of perfection of our performance, know we take precedence over that bestial display.

It’s you we’re talking about, so you must’ve had plenty of conversations beforehand with the leaders from around here whenever you went shopping.

Connecting to the locals should’ve been like running an election campaign.

Most are ready to do what the people in charge tell them to and support us.

They’re not interested in idols. They don’t even know what an idol is.

They've decided it's only natural to support and cheer us on. That it's for the best.

This is a concert in a foreign country that doesn’t conform to the rules of the DreamFes system, so we can’t measure it numerically, but…

Well, I’m sure the local newspapers will whip up something about how we were overwhelmingly dominant in our victory.

This is what fine's lives are like, or something similar.

Yuzuru: … but will that alone satisfy you, President-sama?

Eichi: Fufu. My feelings are a little mixed when it comes to always relying on the Tenshouin name, but I’ll use whatever I have to to triumph.

History is written by the victors. We have to win before anyone will listen to us.

Therefore, the tactics in your plan are valid. Flawless, even.

If you keep in mind the unspeakable dissatisfaction of having to win with tricks and not our ability as idols...

Then sooner or later you’ll be disciplined enough to realize that you can be decidedly triumphant on ability alone.

Rather, I could truly wish for nothing better than for you to become aware of that feeling.

Ah, for you to become such a lovely idol as well… I might clap my hands with delight.

Yuzuru. fine needs your strength in order to aim even higher. I’ll be counting on you more from now on.

Yuzuru: … such gracious words.

( Goodness. Just how far will he go to have everyone in the palm of his hand? And that look on his face like nothing gets past him… how irritating. )

( Although, for such human emotions like anger and frustration to sprout within me as well… realizing that alone shows off fruit of my labor. )

( Enrolling into Yumenosaki Academy to chase after the young master was the right decision, because right now, ah… I’m enjoying life. )

( I’m standing on the battlefield where everyone’s just struggling to survive too. )

( On the battlefield we call life, or adolescence, where thoughts fly instead of bullets, where ideals burst instead of a bombshell— )

( If this is a battlefield then I’m already quite experienced. I have a complete understanding of the etiquette and what it might entail. )

( From the fools who stopped thinking and let their guard down to the unlucky few who met their untimely demise… )

( But I don't plan on leaving my young master behind to die just yet.

( I’ll mow down the coming swarm of enemies and keep moving forward. Although it pains me dearly, and I’m terribly sorry to everyone in UNDEAD… )

( I’d like for you to give up here and become our stepping stone. )

( Please find it in yourselves to forgive me. You should detest the misfortune that led to us meeting as enemies. )

( Unless you can discover another method with which to resolve this, then we have no choice but to spit and swear and thrust blades into one another. )

( While sad, it’s inevitable. )

( That’s all part of life. )

( Gather, everyone. May we enjoy a gratifying moment of war. )
