summer vacation - ( the darkness and the sun 3 )

Location: Tropical Stage

< The following day, on the afternoon of the third day of vacation. >

< Everyone from fine and UNDEAD are on the main island a little ways from their hotel where the annual festival is being held. >

< They went to perform a live concert as entertainment. >

Wataru: “Come come, those gathered here today! Are you ready to delight in the raging enthusiasm of this festival that's only held once a year?”

“Instead of abandoning yourself to needless gossip and vague criticism, hearken to my words if only for a moment!” 

“Do you happen to know what ‘idols’ are?”

“I see. You don’t? Ah, but it kind of rings a bell for that woman tilting her head quizzically over there?” 

“Mmm-hmm. But such a level of understanding is only natural!”

"There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Your ignorance is no fault of your own, but actually ours—as is our lack of popularity!" 

“In our country, Japan, idols are nearly a culture of their own! To say they’re merely a kind of artist would be a bit misleading.”

“All will be fine as long as we're able to capture your attention with our performance!" 

“What’s more, clarifying all this through mere words is simply boorish! We are entertainers, jesters summoned here to be comedians of the festival!” 

“Gaze upon us, take in our song, and perceive through all five senses at once!”

“So savor this rendezvous filled with delicacies, you gourmands, for this meeting with our so-called beloved idols!”   

“Enjoy it all to your heart’s content! It’s showtime. Amazing… ☆”

Tori: Whoa… incredible. Long Hair keeps talking in Martian. 

Yuzuru: Fufu. It’s used on these islands, that is to say, it’s this country’s official language. 

I’ve yet to learn the language myself, but it seems that he’s copying a peculiar accent used among the locals.

I took Hibiki-sama with me to buy things we needed yesterday… 

He only disappeared for a few hours at the time, but it seems he was out talking to them.  

Tori: That’s all he had to do to memorize the local dialect? Isn’t that way too awesome?

Yuzuru: Hibiki-sama’s quite an incredible individual… not that you’d think such a thing when observing his usual outrageous behavior. 

But you’re well aware of that, aren’t you, Young Master? 

In any case, to be that fluent I imagine he must’ve studied the language a great deal before our trip. 

In that respect he happens to be extremely diligent. 

When in Rome, do as the Romans do…  Using the local dialect is a courtesy we must extend towards our guests.

As far as they’re concerned, our singing of love and dreams in Japanese holds little meaning.

We can sincerely reach others when we’re able to understand one another.

Tori: Ah, yeah. That’s true… but I didn’t realize that all. I don’t know a single thing about the language here. 

Yuzuru: In your case, Young Master, your first priority should be displaying a performance that competes with the other leading lights of fine. 

You’ve been doing your utmost to commit all of our songs and dance to heart, haven’t you? By no means could you afford to acquire a completely new language. 

I’ve surely said this so many times that you’re sick of it; however… Only by gradually learning each thing individually can they be well within your means. 

Make your way slowly, for a watched pot never boils.

Tori: … I know that. Besides, even if they don’t understand us, they’ll get that our music and dancing is amazing just watching and listening. 

I’ll do what I can as hard as I can; that’s good enough for me for now. But one day I’ll definitely show you I can catch up to everyone.

Yuzuru: ( Fufu. As incredible as ever, Young Master. You remain dignified even before a crowd of people in a foreign country. Though you’ve always been able to hold yourself together since you were very young. ) 

( You would've been honored within your family, had you not been so bold, had you simply kept your mouth shut and let others do the talking… ) 

( You didn’t survive until today just to abandon your position and cast yourself into the violent bloodbath we call the idol business world. )

( Such a creature would meet its untimely end in the natural world… You’re a clumsy person that can’t be left alone, and that is why this Yuzuru will remain at your side for support. )
